GNS3 2.0.3 on FreeBSD/VirtualBox

So it looks like I won’t be able to figure out for now why dynamips won’t run 🙁
On my FreeBSD 11.2 RELEASE machine it just does this:

Oh well….
I have VirtualBox running on my machine already so I will run all the server side GNS3 stuff in a VM.
Goto here to get the VM
Import the machine into VirtualBox and launch it. Maybe add a few CPU cores and extra ram if you have it to spare. Then go to the shell and get the IP address of the second ethernet interface (eth1).
Note it down.

You can ignore any warnings about eth0 being down. The server will bind to all “UP” interfaces.
Now open up the VirtualBox settings and add port forwarding to the second interface as follows (add more than 5005 if you plan to run more than 5 routers).

Substitute 10.0.0.9 with the “UP” local interface on the host machine.
Now open GNS3 and open the wizard.

And that’s it. You should be able to run all your dynamips and IOU images inside the VM and run gns3 locally on your FreeBSD machine.
